When I sit down to write this section, anxiety fills me because I hate talking about myself so I asked some questions to see what someone would want to know about me. I will be honest with you; this won't edited, so there might be some mistakes so don't hold that against me.
My name is Jaime Russell, and I'm releasing my debut novel in 2016. This book, "Love Me Like You Do" will be part of a series and contain no cliffhangers. I'm from a small town in Indiana where I live with my two dogs Jilly and Annie also cats. I live out in the country where I can shoot guns, have campfires and look out my windows to see deer standing there. I've been married to my husband since 2008, and I'm a stepparent of four adults.
Being the oldest of three, was a lot of fun. My sister Crystal and brother John has given me a lot of joy to my life but also some headaches. I'm the proud aunt of two nephews who are the light of my life. My parents Nathan and Patty are still married going on 40 years who has always supported their children with everything that we have tried to accomplish in our lives.
Why did I decide to write?
I wanted to get the voices that were in my head to either shut up or tell their story. I would have dreams of these characters that were so vivid that it was like watching the book turn into a movie. I grabbed my laptop and started typing. I started writing a different book but put that on hold when Abby and Cash from "Love Me Like You Do" were talking louder. I started writing in the fall of 2014 but started on Cash and Abby around Thanksgiving. I had it finished by Valentine's Day 2015 but after a dream changed it to what the story is now. I have a lot of characters talking to me that I now keep a notebook in my purse, in my car, and on my nightstand, so I don't miss anything.
How do I come up with my material?
The voices in my head, who I adopted as my babies, tell me what they need to be said. They control the story not me. I plotted out "Love Me Like You Do" to go one way, and they laughed at me and said, "Nope, we want to do this instead." I let them guide me to tell their story because after all it's theirs to tell.
Where do I use any of my friends in my books?
Yes, I do but not in the way you think. I use their characteristics. Two of my friends that I played World of Warcraft with are two of my characters in the book. It is an inside joke as it doesn't fit them but with their permission, I use them.
